Convento Cappuccini

Five generations, one convent, and the wines of Monferrato.

The Story

The Botto family has been dedicated to vine growing for at least five generations. In 1994, Pier Luigi founded the first winery in the historic Capuchin Convent of Cassine, where friars had already been producing wine in the eighteenth century.

Today the family estate covers 29 hectares across Ricaldone, Cassine and Strevi in the Alto Monferrato — a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2014.

In 2016 the family built a new state-of-the-art winery in Ricaldone with a tasting room immersed in the rolling hills, engaging both the senses and the landscape.
